Today I will be sharing a street style tawa burger recipe for all the burger lovers. This tawa burger is very different from the regular burger and taste absolutely delicious. It bursts with flavours and is a must try!
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium capsicum, finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes finely chopped
- 5-6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 cup cheese mozzarella or processed
- 1 cup (150g) paneer, small cubes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons schezwan sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon chaat masala
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander
- salt to taste
To assemble the burger
- 4 burger buns
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons schezwan sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
Steps In Making
- To prepare the burger filling, in a pan add butter and ghee. Once it turns hot add garlic and saute for a minute till it turns golden in colour.
- Now add onions and saute for couple of minutes or till it becomes translucent.
- Add capsicum and mix well. Now cover it with a lid and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Further add tomatoes and salt. Mix and cover it with a lid and cook till the tomatoes turn soft.
- Now add turmeric powder, garam-masala, chaat masala, red chilli powder, tomato ketchup, schezwan sauce and mix well. Let it simmer for couple of minutes.
- Further add panner and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add cheese and mix well. Make sure the flame is low or switched off, else the cheese might stick to the pan.
- Lastly garnish with fresh coriander and mix. The tawa burger filling is ready.
To assemble the burger
- Take a burger bun and with the help of a sharp knife cut them from the center, leaving the last end of the burger still en-tagged. (Do not cut them completely)
- Now generously fill the burger with 2-3 tablespoons of the filling.
- Place a tawa on medium flame and add some butter, oil, schezwan sauce, red chilli powder and fresh coriander and mix.
- Now roll the burgers in it and let it toast for a minute from each side.
- Serve hot!
Recipe Notes
- You can add corn, beans, carrots in the tawa burger filling.
- Make sure you add the schezwan sauce for the perfect flavour.
- If you do not like cheese then you can completely skip it.
